What we do
Collection-lawsuit defense
A collector has sued you. We file a response before the deadline and defend the case, including making the collector prove it owns the debt and that the amount is right.
Validation demands
Before a lawsuit, we can require a collector to validate the debt in writing. Collectors that cannot document what they bought often stop.
FDCPA claims
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act limits what a collector may do. Where a collector has broken those rules, the statute gives you a claim against it.
Credit-report disputes
Disputing what a collector or furnisher reported about you, and pursuing it when the report is not corrected.
Scope
What this is not
Said plainly, because the difference decides whether we are the right firm for you.
Not debt settlement
We do not negotiate your balance down, enroll you in a payment plan, or take a fee to reduce what you owe. That is a different service under different rules, and we do not offer it.
Not credit repair
We dispute what is inaccurate. We do not promise to remove accurate information from your report, and a firm that promises that is describing something else.
Not a promise
The name says what the practice is for. It is not a guarantee about any case. Every result depends on the facts, the documents, and the law.
Fees
What it costs
Our fee is agreed in writing before work begins. Court filing fees are set by the court and are separate from our fee.
Our fee
A flat fee for the matter we agree to handle, quoted before any work begins. If the matter changes, we tell you before we do more work.
Court costs
Filing and service fees are set by the court, are separate from our fee, and are paid to the court rather than to us.
FDCPA fee-shifting
The FDCPA allows a court to order a collector that broke the rules to pay attorney's fees. Whether that happens is the court's decision, not ours, and we will not promise it.
